To add a friend, you would need to log in to My Golf.
Once you are logged in, you will see the Member Search field in the upper right hand side
Type in the name you would like to search
By default, this is filtered by your home club. If the player you are searching for is not a member of your home club, you can click on the "x" button to remove the filter.
From there you could see the search result for you to check and "Add Friend".
If you only want to see the details (not adding as a friend), you could just click on the name so you could view the player's details.
Please note that if you click Add Friend, the person will not automatically show in your friends list, it will send a request to the recipient and they will have the option to either accept or decline this request.
